Creating With Nature

Words & Photography
by Eva Jonsson

In contrast to all the beauty that the eye sees, there is also inconstancy. I belive that is the main thought I have in my mind when creating with flowers.

What inspires me about flowers, and nature at large, are of course their colors, exquisite details, textures and shapes, but also their life cycle. Everything is in constant change. As our own lives always are.

I also find my inspiration in raw materials. It could be a crack in the concrete, a block colored wall or street, or a bricked window. Basically, I am drawn to color combinations and worn materials showing signs of age and history.
Everything is in constant change. As our own lives always are.

...my genuine wish is to bring forth a personal feeling within the viewer.
In my work I am steered by the season, which is sort of a challenge this time of year. What emotion I want to portray in a photo I control with editing and not primarily with a specific type of flower or plant. I make the most of what nature has to offer me at the moment. I often re-use plants and flowers for different purposes. Re-use and recycle comes very naturally to me as I practice it in my daily life.

Even though the photos are portraits of me, my genuine wish is to bring forth a personal feeling within the viewer. A thought or a reflection over something, a memory or inspiration for their own creativity. Not to forget, simply finding it to be a pretty picture.
