Words & Photography
by Aly Diller

I need halls wide enough for carrying toweled babies down. Counters that lick themselves clean. Floors that can hide the coffee spills but reveal the dropped earring.
Function. It’s not a very pretty way to think of home, but that’s what it’s come to. I need halls wide enough for carrying toweled babies down. Counters that lick themselves clean. Floors that can hide the coffee spills but reveal the dropped earring. Closets with deep shelves. Walls thick enough for full volume sitcoms after bedtime routines have quieted some. These are the homes that appeal to me now. The pretty ones can go to another buyer.
