In between our travels, it has been a fine year of achieving my goals to learn wooden spoon carving and knitting. I think knitting is really going to stick with me given it's so portable in our nomadic phase. While it is draining on my eyes, I find it relaxing too, so I will persevere.

I made this basket! I adore it and am planning to make more as gifts. If you have basic knitting skills you can do it too. I bought a kit from the friendly ladies Wic & Folk - it has instructions, those whopping big needles and your chosen colour of Australian-made fabric.
