I thought I'd share a little about what I've learned about motherhood so far.

Motherhood is hard. Motherhood is sleepless nights and skipped meals. It is constantly rushing around and saying no a thousand times a day. It is showers where the curtain is flung open and toys are flung in. It is a no privacy ever policy when you're in the bathroom, and absolutely no personal space. ever.
Motherhood is exhausting, not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally, because you never stop doing, you never stop thinking, and you never stop worrying.
Motherhood is exhausting, not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally, because you never stop doing, you never stop thinking, and you never stop worrying. Worrying about every fever and scrape and whether or not they are eating enough, or meeting every milestone. Wondering if your child will have friends and praying that you're not completely messing them up for life. Motherhood is giving so much of yourself all the time and never feeling like it's enough. It is often a thankless job and ridden with guilt. And yet, it's also the most rewarding.
...it is knowing a love you've never known before. A love that is fierce, full of sacrifice, and unconditional.
Because, motherhood is also constant hugs, wet kisses, hand holding and endless snuggling. It is being needed, wanted, and someone's hero. It is full arms and an even fuller heart and it is knowing a love you've never known before. A love that is fierce, full of sacrifice, and unconditional. Motherhood is all that and so much more. It is the hardest and greatest job all at once and I'm so thankful for this gift from God. And I hope, if you're still reading this, that you know how loved and appreciated and needed all of you mamas are. And that the work you do is so very, very important.
