It always amazes me how incredibly perceptive our children can be. I've been a hormonal stress case lately... A little more than usual. And this child... I swear he just gets me. He is so perceptive to my feelings. I may think I am acting normal, but he will come up to my face, put his hands on my cheeks and ask, "Mommy happy?" Yesterday he followed up with an "I yub you, Mama." My eyes immediately welled up with tears.
Our children know us better than we think. We are connected in a way that they feel what we are feeling. Our children know us better than we think. We are connected in a way that they feel what we are feeling. Especially at a younger age, before all the distractions set in, when you are their world, they know you better than ever. I'm grateful for this little guy for bringing me so much joy even when I'm not feeling 100% myself. He is really the best little surprise we ever received.
