Words & Photography
by Laura Blanton

Some days it's really hard to see past to-do lists, dirty dishes, piled up laundry, days of unwashed hair, searching for clean underwear, crumbs on the table, dog hair on the floor... The work of a mom is endless, thankless.
...if we allow these circumstances to constantly be at the forefront of our minds they will drown us, make us feel entitled, and not allow us to choose to enjoy these days for the precious gifts they really are.
The truth is, well, that these are all true, but more importantly, if we allow these circumstances to constantly be at the forefront of our minds they will drown us, make us feel entitled, and not allow us to choose to enjoy these days for the precious gifts they really are.

The next time you feel heavy with thoughts of not feeling "good enough", don't recall a time that someone told you that you were, instead feel empowered because we have the choice to either feel burdened by the "unfinished" and the "not good enough", or to lean into the good stuff. The stuff that really matters. The stuff we think can wait but won't. And the joy that God has tucked away in that very moment.
