Words For My Heart

Words & Photography
by Emma Clark

It's been a very long Saturday and I know it's only 7pm, but I just want to go to bed and start a new day.

Checking in with my heart right now and in all honesty, it feels very sad and discouraged for the things I have no control over, the things I cannot do anything to change, the people I love that I cannot help. I'm trying my best to find some peace in this day and have done a good job of distracting myself for fear of bursting into tears in front of perfect strangers.
Checking in with my heart right now and in all honesty, it feels very sad and discouraged for the things I have no control over, the things I cannot do anything to change, the people I love that I cannot help.
This evening, being finally at home, I've held my hand over my heart and sat still with my breath, reminding myself "you were made for romance, you were made for adventure." But after days like today that leave me feeling hopeless, it's hard not to feel like anything but those words are true. So I think I might just sit still for a few more moments, maybe roll out my mat, and continue speaking words of truth over my heart. Words like, "you were made for romance, you were made for adventure." Words like, "you are good, your heart is good, silence." Words like, "it is well with my soul." Words like, "just breathe."
