Last week we were paid a visit by the original family to own our nearly 100 year old home, siblings who had grown up in this house in the 50's and 60's.

They told tales of the hours spent on this porch and walked all through the place, sharing what has changed and what is exactly the same, telling of how they played Mother May I and Simon Says on the staircase. It was amazing how our common love and experience with this home quickly made us feel like family.
They told tales of the hours spent on this porch and walked all through the place, sharing what has changed and what is exactly the same...
The last thing one of them said as they were leaving was, "Happiest days of my life were spent right here." At this I had to choke back tears, thinking of my kids touring this home with one another when I'm gone, hopeful they might say the same.
