That House

Words & Photography

Felt so good to set aside a couple of hours and get out and do some gardening this autumn afternoon. The hedges and lawn were so overgrown we had started to look like 'that house' on the street, and the fallen golden lilac leaves, although incredibly beautiful, were slowly swallowing up the front stairs.

Our neighbor Ian even popped over to give us a hand, pumping up the wheelbarrow tire (which deflated again not long after, bless him) and taking away our green waste to shred up as mulch for his garden beds.

There's nothing quite like taking time to get out in the garden - it always fills me up. The afternoon light was so beautiful, too.

P.S. This is soooo not our house. But one day I hope it will be.
