Minimalistic Living

Words & Photography
by Rebecca Heart

I've been doing an obsessive amount of reading and documentary-watching on minimalistic living. It's blowing my mind how brainwashed we are as a society. How we all walk around thinking that the more we buy, the more voids we'll fill. That the more we make, the more successful we'll be. That the more successful we are, the happier we'll end up....and it's all a big lie. The money, the stuff, the "American dream" we're all supposed to want and attempt to achieve...it still won't make us happy at the end of the day.
How we all walk around thinking that the more we buy, the more voids we'll fill. That the more we make, the more successful we'll be. That the more successful we are, the happier we'll end up....and it's all a big lie.
Saying all this to say that, now more than ever, I just want to get rid of all the extra and travel around in a tiny trailer home with my people. I also may have just sent Mike to donations with ten garbage bags and a pile of crap that no longer "brought me joy".
