The large tray stand would be rolled into the lounge room, laden with fruit cake, sandwiches, and fresh scones with a thick layer of butter.Rolled out a batch of scones today and thought of my Grandma as I did so. As a child, living in the UK with my family, we would head over to her house every Friday night for tea. The large tray stand would be rolled into the lounge room, laden with fruit cake, sandwiches, and fresh scones with a thick layer of butter. As I made them today, and later sat outside with the family enjoying them in the fresh air, it made me realize again how significant a food memory can be, and how special it is to have them.
