Today I’m going to be Scarlett O’Hara. I’m not going to think about Meg leaving. I’m going to invite some people over and make gumbo, and visit with my husband, and watch my garden grow, and distract myself all day. Then tomorrow morning I will get up and make coffee and sit and cry, and miss her.
Cherish today. Snuggle on the couch and read a book to them. Squeeze them tight throughout the day. Look into their eyes and listen to them even when they ramble. Tomorrow they will be grown.
We spend their entire childhood getting them ready to spread their wings, but it is so hard when they start flying. They tell you when your kids are little that the years go by so fast but we never believe it until they are grown. Please mamas, trust me. It goes FAST. So fast that it will make your head spin. Cherish today. Snuggle on the couch and read a book to them. Squeeze them tight throughout the day. Look into their eyes and listen to them even when they ramble. Tomorrow they will be grown.
