On Sunday, I was in the kitchen whipping cream for ice cream sundaes and thinking about life the way one does when involved in mindless tasks. I’ve made whipped cream by hand countless times and it never fails that I get to a point where I think to myself, “Why is this not working?! Is there something wrong with this cream? Is it too hot in here?” And then the next thing you know—BAM, sweet, fluffy peaks.
It hit me that making whipped cream is a lot like a career. For the longest time it seems like nothing is happening. You second guess yourself, blame the circumstances, blame...everything.It hit me that making whipped cream is a lot like a career. For the longest time it seems like nothing is happening. You second guess yourself, blame the circumstances, blame...everything. But if you concentrate on the task at hand and don’t get discouraged by the hard stuff, before you know it, you’ve accomplished way more than you ever thought possible. Persistence not perfection, right? Keep whipping friends!
