Bump Session

Words & Photography
by Rachel Williams

On Sunday I had showered, curled my hair, and put makeup on so we could do one final bump session before we become parents. For whatever reason, I was not having it...even though it was my idea to begin with. The handful of shots we took felt forced and I was tired, so about 15 minutes in I called it quits. My sweet husband put  my camera away and began to tell me that we’re going to do this everyday until baby comes if we have to.
So the next day I put on my comfy clothes, sprayed some dry shampoo in my hair, and cleaned my face leaving the makeup in the bag. I hadn’t showered or anything. We ended up taking photos for an hour and a half.

We ended up taking photos for an hour and a half. I felt more at ease knowing I had prioritized my comfort level and that my husband was, and always has been, on board with being behind the camera.

So here I am, at thirty-six weeks in my sweats just bumming it out in our bedroom. I can’t wait to share this blog post (later this week) as I close out this chapter and jump into parenthood with my best friend and teammate. Cheers to new adventures.
