Are you ready for fall? This weekend, we spent family time camping in the woods and playing along the Mississippi River, trying to claim what is left of summer. We caught glimpses that the shift of the season is near. I cannot believe how fast it has come, but the cool morning breezes and leaves changing colors do not lie.

For me, this transition is a welcome one, but it also means preparation. Harvesting the abundance of high summer and savoring the moments that remain. I was overjoyed to be welcomed home by these beloved plant allies. This afternoon while everyone napped to recover from a sleepless and wet night filled with thunderstorms that kept most of us awake, I put things back in order and cleared the space, setting intentions for my making, and crafted this abundance into fuel for this transition to come.

This weekend, the grounding time helped me find clarity and vision for how I want to spent my time and energy in the months to come.

Today’s harvest from left to right: skullcap, mugwort, lemon balm, lemon verbena, a hint of our elderberry harvest, and a single passionflower.
