New York is the same and different than I expected.
Also, some dancers popped and locked on the
subway train today, and it was awesome.

Can never say no. Especially to the Madison Square Park location. Something about the twinkly lights.

Té Company

Té Company in the West Village is a really special place. Focusing specifically on oolongs, the fine folks there have curated an impressive and extensive collection of oolongs from Taiwan. Fascinating how diverse oolong teas can be (from floral to deeply earthy), and observing the flavor profile shift with each steeping. Highly recommend spending an afternoon there!

Isola Trattoria & Crudo Bar

On a beautiful day, make the trip downtown to Isola Trattoria & Crudo Bar for brunch in the gorgeous greenhouse with hanging plants and crystal chandeliers. Opt for one of the yummy cocktails and then head over to the hotel lobby entrance, which features a vine-covered tunnel, for some wonderful photos ops. The greenery is a small breath of fresh air from the concrete jungle.

A Morning in New York City

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Words & Photography
by Amee Kim

This Thanksgiving, I was able to go back home to the east coast and spend the holiday with my family. To say the least, I had a rewarding and fulfilling time. While I was there, I took a day trip to New York City, a city I once knew so well. My morning was spent eating breakfast at an egg shop, quite literally, and of course I had some coffee afterward.

Egg Shop is a quaint little restaurant in Little Italy, where eggs are the main stars. I mean, who doesn't love a runny yolk? This place is seriously good.

After breakfast, I took a coffee break at Happy Bones. It's a small coffee shop that's packed with character. With old school 90s pop playing in the background and cool magazines available to read, Happy Bones is an eclectic coffee shop that's fitting to New York City. Oh, and the coffee isn't too bad either.

New York: Randoms

Friday, December 30, 2011

Well, this is the last of our New York trip series! These photos were taken as we walked around the city; including shots of St. Patrick's Cathedral, the subway, The Dakota, and Times Square.

And stay tuned for photos of our trip to Seattle coming soon.

New York: Bill's Burgers

Thursday, December 29, 2011

This was where we had our last meal in New York; at a really cool burger joint right across the street from our hotel. Although I was too full from our other hearty meals during our stay there to get a burger, I ordered a chopped salad which was just as delicious, and had a chocolate milkshake just to even things out ;)

New York: Petrossian Cafe

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

This boutique/cafe was nestled in my favorite building in New York. The first time we walked past it, our mouths fell open in awe of the beautiful intricacy of the building's design. And upon first sight of the cafe itself, I knew we would have to stop in at some point to grab a tasty-looking tart and a coffee! We did, and it was delicious.

New York: Staten Island Ferry

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

We decided to take the ferry the day before we left. A free ride out to Staten Island, on which we got a great view the beautiful New York City sky line! The weather was chilly, but sunny, so we got some great pictures along the way.
