A Piece Of Home

Recently my friend was telling me of an art project in which she had to convey ten things that made her happy, which got me thinking. Happiness for me stems from the small things, the quiet moments wedged in between the distractions of a busy life. I feel most at home in the comfort of my bedroom, which I fill with little things that make me happy: candles, fresh blooms, mugs of tea, gentle music, photos of my family, books, books and more books.

I will be leaving home for universities in a few short months- an adventure which I cannot wait for- but leaving behind the comfort of my bed, my family, and familiarity scares me slightly. I know that if I'm surrounded by these things that make me happy, I will have a piece of home with me.
