I'm big on morning rituals but even bigger on being flexible when circumstances go unexpectedly.
...the truth is...it wasn't the experimental flask, it was the walking in when it's quiet, making a cup of something, and sitting for a bit before the house stirred. And I can do that just about anywhere...So my dad broke my Chemex yesterday and almost cussed (!) and told me he'd buy me another "one of those....experimental flask things." And I busted up and said don't worry about it, it's just another coffee maker. Because the truth is...it wasn't the experimental flask, it was the walking in when it's quiet, making a cup of something, and sitting for a bit before the house stirred. And I can do that just about anywhere, with anything (and I've had mornings when this is not even possible but I enjoy them just the same, maybe I just love mornings). Im grateful to my parents today who, for all of our differences and bad words back and forth and stressors with each other, have supported me a heck of a lot the past few months.
