Words & Photography

Our trip was less than 48 hours but it feels like we were gone a week. Traveling with a kid is awesome but exhausting.
...every person has equal value and worth and deserves rights and respect and safety regardless of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and social class.
Also, sorry to get wordy, but that quote hits close to home with everything going on in Minnesota right now. We are pretty much just winging it as parents (and as people), but one thing Pete and I know is that we want to raise kids that are aware of the unearned privilege they have simply because of their skin color. That just because we aren't marginalized or victims of injustice doesn't mean we get to sit back in silence (silence is such a cop out). That every person has equal value and worth and deserves rights and respect and safety regardless of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and social class. And that as people whose lives and rights and voices are not in jeopardy, we need to stand with those whose are.
