Was surprised by Carlo with a picnic in the field today, from the farm restaurant. A beautiful basket filled with all delicious local produce and coloured pinstriped blankets to sit and enjoy lunch under the olive trees.
We generally struggle with keeping them at the table long enough to finish their meals, but today made me realise how comforting it is for them to be close to the ground. The kids loved it, and seem to eat more when outside roaming free on their feet. We generally struggle with keeping them at the table long enough to finish their meals, but today made me realise how comforting it is for them to be close to the ground. Standing or hands and bums planted firmly for almost an hour just eating whatever was there in front of them. Holding onto these warm summer days, making meal times calm and simply satisfying, outside where they belong!
