Every year around the holidays I make my Grandma’s recipe for challah bread. She passed away when I was a baby but I grew up eating and later making this bread with my Dad every year. And now, for the last 5-6 years, carrying on the tradition on my own.
She passed away when I was a baby but I grew up eating and later making this bread with my Dad every year.I’m admittedly a very lazy baker and this is the most challenging thing I ever make, but I always take my time, actually spooning the flour (not scooping like usual) and even using a thermometer to make sure the water is at the perfect temperature. It’s a labor of love and I love to do it. Plus, sharing the second loaf with friends is pretty special too.
