This mama gig. It is such an investment. It’s a sacrifice. It’s so rewarding and so incredible- but it’s so taxing. Some days it’s magical, and some days it’s survival.
It is such an investment. It’s a sacrifice. It’s so rewarding and so incredible- but it’s so taxing. Some days it’s magical, and some days it’s survival.
This particular stage means very inconsistent sleep at night and a lot of physical needs to be met all throughout the day. It means a lot of holding, kissing and rocking, and very little time for self care. It means early morning, warm, sleepy wake-up cuddles in mama and daddy’s bed while it’s still dark outside, and a few meltdowns throughout the day. It means a never-all-the-way-clean house and lots of child-taught lessons on priorities and patience and understanding. It means a lot of monotony in my current routine and a lot, a lot of giving.

But being in all of this means they still fit in my arms, say “Mama” with the sweetest tiny voice, look to me when they’re unsure or hurt, and their tiny heads still fit in that spot right on my heart. It’s worth it.
