I used to think that the measure of a good home was it’s beauty - how thoughtful the decor was, how functional a space could be. But when we strip it all away, at the core of it, what makes the perfect home is the love that is felt there and the memories made within its walls.

...now I think it’s beautiful simply for the fact that it provides our family with a place to enjoy a meal together, to talk about our day, to make memories, and play board games or make crafts. 

A few months ago I would have told you this is my favorite spot in our house simply because it was new, and fresh, and beautiful. And while I still believe that to be true, now I think it’s beautiful simply for the fact that it provides our family with a place to enjoy a meal together, to talk about our day, to make memories, and play board games or make crafts. It’s not the stuff inside a house that matters so much or that makes it feel like “home”, it’s the people. It’s the love shared there. Because without that, it’s just four walls and a roof.

So my wish for you today Is that you live in a palace, my friend.
