Our best seasons in marriage have always been marked by intentionally trying to out-love/out-serve each other. It’s so so easy to get lazy in marriage and much harder to intentionally choose someone else over yourself.
He’s so much better about leaving me love notes but this ought to one-up him. Our best seasons in marriage have always been marked by intentionally trying to out-love/out-serve each other. To be honest, I’ve been kinda sucking at it lately, but I 10/10 recommend saying I’m sorry with an apology pie.

Date Night

Times when my husband and I have left our babies for a date night out (thanks to some amazing friends and grandparents) add up to 6.

We still find opportunities to date each other every weekend, even within the walls of our home. We order takeout, light candles, watch movies, play Mario Party, or simply just sit on the deck and talk. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or wild to date your spouse, it just has to be intentional.

I’m grateful I had three nights this weekend to stay up late with him even if the majority of the time we end up talking about our babies anyway.

Kids At Heart

I think something that has kept us happy lately is staying young at heart. Sometimes being “an adult” is stressful and full of hardships that can be overwhelming. We try to keep things light, and keep them happy, and stay true to us. Our marriage is no where near perfect. We have our issues, we disagree a lot, but we try to make things work, and keep the spark alive.

We’ve been trying to better our relationship lately as we feel like we’ve been in a funk, and one of our resolutions is to do more wholesome recreational activities, and bond over things we loved doing before all the stresses of life came into ours. Here’s to being kids at heart.
