Tahoe

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

And these are the last batch of my favorite photos from our trip...these were all taken once we got to Tahoe!

This was taken while driving, close to getting to our hotel in Tahoe. It was amazing how many trees there were! As far as the eye could see...and they were all covered in snow. It was like a dream.

I had to take a picture of this car because it says "Hella" next to the head lights...and that word reminds me of my friend Sarah. I just thought it was funny :)

I was beyond excited to be out playing in the snow...can you tell?

The snow was more than 4 feet deep in certain places! It was kinda scary/fun not knowing where you could walk and where you would sink in.

We made our way down to this little creek...it was really pretty to see all the snow that had gathered on the banks and rocks in it.

I love this picture because of how crazy the trees look behind me. (I was jumping off a hills of snow I climbed, to see how deep I would sink in when I landed lol)

Eating snow was my favorite!

I refused to fall completely in the snow like he did...the thought of doing that was just waayyy too cold for me.

Trudging our way through a couple feet of snow was a wonderful workout. So tiring!

On our way out of Tahoe, Anthony wanted to get a photo on the shore of the lake. While he was getting his shot, I was testing the strength of the ice that had formed on the egde...

So there you have it! A recap of our trip through photos :) Hope you enjoyed it!

p.s. A special hello to my newest followers...Kelly Jo, Ree Sea, Melanie, and Doina!

San Francisco

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Here are my favorite photos we took in San Francisco!

This is one of our first photos we took in SF together.

He took this one of me while I was trying to get the shot below.

That island far off in the background is Alcatraz.

While walking back to the truck, we came across this line of broken down buildings all along old Mason St.

This was the view while driving down one of San Fran's many steep streets. Once again, you can see Alcatraz island.

This was a photo I took of the tree I believed to be a womping willow ;)

This is a photo of the Temple of Music, located in the music concourse between the De Young Museum and the Academy of Sciences.

After leaving the downtown area to head up to Tahoe, we happened to come across this very cool area called Battery Alexander.

This battery, was built in 1901 to serve as part of the harbor defense of San Francisco. This is a photo of the outside of a service room.

Anthony standing in front of a data booth.

This is the last shot I took while driving out of San Francisco...on our way up to Tahoe.

Monterey

Monday, January 4, 2010

Here are some of the photos we took on the first part of our holiday trip in Monterey!

There were a ton of geese at this really pretty cemetery we came across.

Some of the head stones in that cemetery were dated back to the 1800's, which I found really amazing.

I couldn't resist the urge to run through this flock of birds that were just sitting around, minding their own business...

We had a delicious brunch at First Awakenings...a cute little restaurant in the American Tin Cannery Outlet Center.

I became friends with a curious, and bold little squirrel :)

You would not believe the size of these waves that were crashing all along the shore...15-20 footers! So incredible.

Anyways, those are just a few of my favorite photos we took in Monterey. I will be posting more photos from our stay in San Francisco, and Tahoe soon!

p.s. Welcome to Y, my newest follower!

I came across Simon's Cat on White Rabbit. Having owned a cat before, it's funny to me how well he captures a cat's personality :)
