What Fills You

Tuesday, January 28, 2020

Words & Photography
by Carrie Huseman

Something about these long winter nights has me filling my table with big platters of pasta, the kind you can twirl and twirl and twirl on your fork and wash down with a good heady red wine. Records on, candles glowing. A good day with the babes, but they’re asleep by now of course.

What fills you up right now? What fills you up in the wintertime?

How Do You Compromise?

Thursday, January 23, 2020

Words & Photography

Still no luck in convincing the bf
to get an Afghan carpet for our own home,
cause he doesn’t like them and thinks it wouldn’t look good
(when in fact it would look marvelous!).
How do you compromise in these situations?
Does your SO care about stuff like interior, etc?

Made For Each Other

To me, winter is one long celebration of Saturday morning. Or maybe, Saturday mornings are one long celebration of winter. Either way, the two were clearly made for each other.
To me, winter is one long celebration of Saturday morning. Or maybe, Saturday mornings are one long celebration of winter. Either way, the two were clearly made for each other. Especially when we get a chance to sleep in, make yummy Dutch babies, and enjoy the sunshine from the cozy indoors. What's your favorite indoor winter activity?

Read Aloud

Friday, January 17, 2020

Words & Photography
by Keri Botch

We’ve already started our second family read aloud of the year. I chose "The Wild Robot" thanks to some of your suggestions, and so far we’re loving it!

I wanted to share what a typical afternoon tea and read aloud looks like for us. I do simple teatimes WAY more than the fancy poetry kind, and we enjoy them both equally.
⁣Sitting together, enjoying great books, delicious treats, and each other’s company. Such a sweet bonding time for us all.
I can’t believe my kids and I have been gathering together like this in one way or another for 2 1/2 years already. Sitting together, enjoying great books, delicious treats, and each other’s company. Such a sweet bonding time for us all. ⁣

First Refresh Of The Year

Our fire place is one of my favorite
features in our 1920s home.
My first refresh of the year will be the
built-in shelves attached to the side of the fire place.
We all know styling shelves can be so hard and tricky!
Hopefully it won’t take me long
to find the pieces I love.

I Set The Tone

Monday, January 13, 2020

Words & Photography
by Shelby Goodman

Been at this stay-at-home-mom gig long enough to know that I set the tone for how our days go. My attitude, my actions, my patience level, cause a trickle down effect. And it’s a big responsibility when you think about how day after day it adds up to years upon years.

Really wanted to be annoyed when stripping and washing the window seat cushions got added to my list early this morning, but instead I helped them make this area into a racetrack, and that one small choice really made this Monday less Monday-ish.

A Space That Feels Just Right

Friday, January 10, 2020

Words & Photography
by Steven Fingar

Let’s set the record straight. My living room is an integral part of my home, used as both a work space and personal oasis. Balancing those energies can sometimes be tricky, especially after shifting into freelance work more steadily. I often use my Vitruvi products to set the tone of my day to create a positive and healthy space - one that just "feels right".

Especially in a bustling city, I think it's important to have a place where you feel comfortable and at ease in order to unwind at the end of the day.

Continuing To Try

Attic Home Office

This space cost me about $50 using mostly things I already owned. So happy with it...
A snap of my attic home office because I felt inspired to clean it today. Not pictured are piles and piles of denim samples already taking over. This space cost me about $50 using mostly things I already owned. So happy with it and kinda wish I snapped this photo with my camera, but I’m lazy.

My Baskets

Monday, January 6, 2020

I realized I’ve never shown this side of our bedroom.
I took apart the basket wall on the opposite wall several months ago and moved the baskets around, and this makes me much happier because it’s more minimal.
I took apart the basket wall on the opposite wall several months ago and moved the baskets around, and this makes me much happier because it’s more minimal. I have three other baskets on the other side of the bed with some greenery hanging off of them and I love the combo. All my baskets except for one are thrifted. Eventually will want to switch out the little stool on the left, but my snake plant has been thriving and it’s growing so much I may have to figure out something else all together.

Until then this will do...
